TekCast is MOG’s integrator partner for Vietnam region. The company operates in several technology and broadcast fields, such as: radio, television, cinema, culture, printing equipment, security equipment inspection and various events. It provides installation, technology transfer systems, production equipment TV, storage systems, radio programs, video tapes, lighting systems for many broadcasting stations across the country, especially for Vietnam TV Radio (VTV), Hanoi Radio and Television, Radio City TH.Ho Chi Minh, Film Production Centre Vietnam Television (VFC), Radio and Television Quang Ninh, Hai Phong Radio and Television, and many others. TekCast’s support was crucial for MOG to implement a centralized ingest workflow at Vietnam TV.

The Challenge

Vietnam TV represented MOG’s first customer in APAC using AVID’s workflow environment. The broadcaster needed to accelerate its production workflows, by migrating their archives and news production processes into a completely tapeless and flexible system. The project main goal consisted in providing a high quality-centralized, multi-format and metadata-rich ingest system that starts the whole ingest process through an automated method.

The Solution

Accelerating production workflows with a tapeless system

The broadcaster is using MOG’s powerful file-based ingest system – mxfSPEEDRAIL F1000 – which provides a centralized approach to automatically ingest any type of media files. For this specific case, the files being ingested were: AVID MXF OPAtom, XDCAM EX, XDCAM HD, P2 and MOV formats. When the ingest process is over, the files need to be unified into AVID MXF files, enabling the harmonized distribution of contents for editing suites and archive systems. The ingested media is also immediately available at the new Avid ISIS 5000 and ISIS7000, allowing a collaborative editing among Avid editors. The check-in is also made directly into Avid Interplay Media Asset Management.
